Complex and creative venue concepts and certified sustainability management: Two success stories from the Stadthalle Reutlingen

Around 750 participants, numerous parallel programme items and almost the entire venue serving as event space: For the employee event of a major German insurance company, the Reutlingen Stadthalle developed a versatile venue layout for presentations, workshops, networking, catering and entertainment.
In addition to the Main Hall, which provided the central setting with its stage and live band, 14 breakout rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology were available. Creativity was also evident in the use of space: even the area normally concealed beneath the electromechanically adjustable parquet flooring was quickly transformed into an extraordinary workshop space.
Large capacities, flexible spaces, short distances and personalised, all-round support created diverse and impressive event environments under one roof – ranging from creative formats and the specialist programme to the collaborative social programme, which fostered exchange and cohesion.
Technical expertise meets flexibility
A two-day conference organised by an internationally active IT company demonstrated how the Stadthalle Reutlingen combines complex technical requirements with flexible room layouts. Around 300 participants travelled to Reutlingen for the event. This was the second time the company had chosen the Stadthalle.
The IT client had high expectations regarding connectivity, data security and presentation technology. The Stadthalle Reutlingen is equipped with state-of-the-art event technology and was able to meet the demands of complex IT conferences. The venue’s flexibility was also evident in the way the spaces were arranged: the team completely reconfigured the event rooms several times during the conference, creating suitable settings for the various programme items on the very same day.

Consistently sustainable
Sustainability is an integral part of the venue’s concept: the venue is situated in the UNESCO Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve, uses 100 per cent green electricity – supplemented by its own photovoltaic system – and relies on regional and seasonal catering products, as well as its own beehives on the hall’s roof – a holistic approach that is greatly appreciated by its clientele.
Certified sustainability management is an important deciding factor for many event planners. The Stadthalle Reutlingen is one of the few event venues worldwide to hold Green Globe Platinum status, which was reaffirmed in 2026. These standards are incorporated into the planning and implementation right from the start. The venue works continuously to reduce emissions and implement further measures for sustainable events. This also benefits customers, as corporate clients receive a sustainability certificate after their event, which documents the services provided and can be used for their own corporate communications.
