Stuttgart Television Tower: Highest Event Location reopens

Stuttgart has gained another attraction: after a break of nearly three years the city's popular landmark reopened at the end of January. At a height of 389 metres over Palace Square, Stuttgart's highest event venue is once again available for functions.

The Stuttgart Television Tower has been open to the public again since 30th January 2016. For fire safety reasons the Tower was closed to visitors on 27th March 2013 by order of the city of Stuttgart. "Right on time for its 60th birthday Stuttgart has got back its Tower and the event location with its outstanding panorama," said Armin Dellnitz, Managing Director of the Stuttgart-Marketing GmbH. The Television Tower's event area, 389 metres above Palace Square, has room for up to 68 visitors. "Leonhardts", the restaurant at the foot of the Television Tower, can accommodate 170 diners and serves regional Swabian cuisine. In the summer months, there's the inviting beer garden for al fresco meals.

The reopening of the Television Tower to the public following its period of closure was not a matter of course. There are only four accessible television towers in the whole of Germany, in the state capitals of Berlin, Munich and Düsseldorf as well as in Stuttgart. In addition to the optimized fire safety measures, all the public areas now also welcome visitors in a new, modern design.
