GCB educational trip to Stuttgart

Event organisers get inspired

At the invitation of the German Convention Bureau (GCB), the Stuttgart Convention Bureau (SCB) welcomed a group of conference organisers from the USA and Brazil to Stuttgart from 16 to 19 May 2014. The educational trip gave the delegates the opportunity to see what the region offers its visitors – from local hospitality and tourist attractions to hotels and conference venues. The highlight was a drive in the world's very first car from 1886.

The GCB and the SCB invited conference organisers and journalists from the USA and Brazil to get to know Stuttgart, the state capital of Baden Württemberg, by taking part in an educational trip from 16 to 19 May 2014. A traditional yet innovative city, Stuttgart is a top European business and conference location in south-west Germany, because of its excellent infrastructure. The educational trip provided an insight into the automotive engineering expertise of the Stuttgart Region, as well as highlighting the excellent choice of conference venues and hotels. The subject of green meetings was a particular focus. The itinerary featured a trip to the medieval town of Esslingen including a visit to Kessler, the oldest sparkling wine producer in Germany, and a tour of the Ludwigsburg Palace – the ‘Swabian Versailles’. An unforgettable highlight was the visit to the Mercedes-Benz Museum followed by a drive in the world's very first car, the Benz Patent motor car from 1886.
