First guest organiser to book ten exhibition halls

After LogiMAT occupied all the exhibition halls of Messe Stuttgart in 2016 and 2017, it immediately added the new Paul Horn Hall (Hall 10) to stage its event on 13 to 15 March 2018 as soon as the new hall extension was completed in January 2018. LogiMAT is the first guest organiser to occupy all halls. Everything still smelled brand new. The smell of wood comes from the 68 metre wide laminated wood construction that spans the central bay of the three-bay hall, flooding the entire building with daylight and lending it a unique appeal and elegance.

"I am delighted with the building. The architecture of the Paul Horn Hall is very successful. And I am very pleased and also proud that LogiMAT immediately filled the additional 14,600 gross square metres of the new hall," says Peter Kazander, Exhibition Director of LogiMAT and Managing Director of EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH, organiser of the logistics trade fair. A total of 1,540 exhibitors will present their products on an exhibition area of just under 120,000 gross square metres. "There will be a good 150 more exhibitors than last year, coming from 37 countries from Columbia to New Zealand. A new record." In additional to the entire exhibition hall area, LogiMAT also occupied the Congress West, the VIP Lounge and the Press Centre of the International Congress Center (ICS) Stuttgart.

The logistics exhibition specialist and Messe Stuttgart have been a successful team since the start of the 1990s when Messe Stuttgart was still located at the old fairgrounds on Killesberg in Stuttgart. When Messe Stuttgart moved to the new fairgrounds at Stuttgart Airport in 2008, it doubled its exhibition area and gave
LogiMAT its first major boost in growth. But during the last LogiMAT event in 2017, Peter Kazander saw that there was still scope for expansion and immediately announced "when the Paul Horn Hall is finished, I'd like to fill it as well." No sooner said than done! By that, the exhibition organiser had more than mere growth in mind. There were to be more innovations and new products than before at the international trade fair for intralogistics solutions and process management. "Digitalisation was the "glue" bonding the exhibition halls together, especially when it comes to our industry," says Kazander by way of explanation. This trend resulted in a new exhibition section for intelligent containers and storage solutions.

The advantages of the Stuttgart venue are unbeatable for Kazander. "It's not only the fact that many of our customers are based in Baden-Württemberg and only have to travel a short distance to LogiMAT, the transport logistics also play a major role. The airport is directly next to the fairgrounds and this makes access much easier for international visitors. The distances on the fairgrounds are also short. The halls and rooms offer state-of-the-art conference facilities and all have natural daylight. These two factors make work easier and the rooms are very pleasant to be in.“ Messe Stuttgart highly appreciates LogiMAT as one of its most successful and long-standing guest events. "Collaboration with Peter Kazander was based on excellent partnership from the very start. We are delighted that together with our service partners, we were able to contribute to the enormous success of the event. And we congratulate LogiMAT on their successful début in the Paul Horn Hall," said Stefan Lohnert, Vice President of Guest Events at Messe Stuttgart (picture credit: Messe Stuttgart).

Technical challenges such as the integration of lecture forums in the exhibition halls were implemented to meet the organiser's requirements. Our technical partner Neumann & Müller installed a professional audio system in the forum area to avoid any annoying spill-over of sound in the surrounding stands. "Our aim was to set up integrated forum areas and still be able to conduct intelligible technical talks on the stands. The design concept of directing sound reproduction towards the interior of the forum area was an excellent solution," explains Kazander.
