7 Winning Things to Do in Stuttgart

Seven is a number often associated with good luck, but as savvy planners know, pulling off dynamic and unique activities, great hotel stays and convenient travel around meetings, conferences and incentive trips can’t be left to chance.

Still, it’s not bad to throw in a pinch of good luck sometimes alongside good planning … so here are seven “sure bet” options in Stuttgart that will have you and your delegates feeling like winners.

#1 -- Host an event at the stunning Kunstmuseum Stuttgart  – an impressive glass cube that features over 15,000 artworks spanning impressionism, realism, contemporary art and more.  While offering the ultimate in sleek modern elegance, the museum also lets guests soak in local history and a Baroque vibe with the venue perched overlooking the Stuttgart’s Schlossplatz (palace square).  This heartbeat-of-the-city area is home to a summer festival, open air concerts, lovely gardens, gorgeous fountains and the picturesque “New Palace.”

#2 -- Your guests don’t have to be car buffs to enjoy the ride at the Mercedes Benz Museum.  Customized meetings or incentive receptions, combined with private tours spanning the 130 yrs. of the famous and infamous rides, special exhibitions, and innovations on the horizon all await. You can also get networking really cooking over a snack or full gourmet meal along with local refreshments from wines and beers … to apple spritzers.

#3 -- Ever met in a space inspired by ancient Hopi Native American sanctuaries called kivas? Well now you can at the Jaz Stuttgart. The property’s unique meeting rooms can host up to 180 people, in addition there are two 6th floor boardrooms connected to a rooftop terrace overlooking the lovely Stuttgart skyline including views of the lush vineyards. 166 guest rooms bring a laid-back “glam” feel complete with rain showers, Nespresso machines and relaxation yoga-kits. The food and the music served are inspired by “Local  DNA”.

#4 -- You’d usually never want your attendees to say they slept in a car at your happening, but if they were staying at the V8 Hotel at MOTORWORLD Region Stuttgart it comes with full bragging rights. This unique hotel features beds fashioned out of real Jeep Wranglers, Jaguar XJ2’s, Martini Porsche Boxster’s and more – providing great digs for automotive-inspired incentive trips too!

#5 -- Spending some time at the Porsche Museum will keep delegates’ and incentive guests’ hearts revving with exclusive tours of these iconic cars and or/a tour of the futuristic  architecture of the museum itself if that’s more their speed. Great dining comes “standard” at the museum’s restaurant featuring glass walls over-looking exhibits and a view of the factory across the way. 600 sq meters (nearly 6,500 sq feet) of conference space is a first class way to host a meeting or reception at the museum -- perhaps including a Porsche parked right in the room.  Combine this with a Porsche Factory tour right across the street or even a spin behind the wheel as part of the Porsche Drive program and you’ve got “memorable!”

#6 -- Changing it up a bit and in celebration of the original form of “horsepower”, consider a gem of a gala, event or dinner venue in the one of a kind Reithalle (riding/equestrian hall) at the Maritim Hotel Stuttgart. Built in 1885 the historically protected stunner features iron work reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower and Italian Renaissance design. The adjoining Maritim hotel then features 555 rooms, restaurants, bars and 13 meeting rooms all renovated in 2016, and is also connected, via a weather proof tunnel, to the Liederhalle conference center with further meeting options.

#7 -- Last but not least travel convenience is at its height with the city’s largest conference space the ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart and multiple hotels including the Mövenpick and Wyndham a short and pleasant walking distance (yes actual 5 minutes walking distance) from the Stuttgart Airport. The city center can be explored after a short 25 minutes ride.
